Tourism in Iloilo - Philippines

There are several tourist attractions in Iloilo, ranging from natural splendors to magnificent manmade structures. The next time that you plan a vacation in the Philippines, make it a point to drop by the province to see what it has in store for you.

You can start your exploration of the many tourist attractions in Iloilo by going to the Bulabog Puti-an National Park. This park is located in Barangay Moroboro and is frequented by both local and foreign visitors, mainly to explore the caves, (there are over a dozen here), as well as go hiking through the many nature spots around it. Another place that you might want to go to is the Chameleon Butterfly Garden, where some of the most exotic butterflies in the world can be found.

Some of the most beautiful tourist attractions in Iloilo are its churches. The Molo Church is known for its superb architectural design, echoing the works of the Renaissance masters as well as its collection of images of female saints; the Guimbal Church is recognized for the imposing watchtower and the bells, which in times past were used to warn of dangers and hazards. Another popular church is the one in Miagao, which has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Beaches are also popular tourist attractions in Iloilo. Some of the most beautiful can be found on the Isla de Gigantes on Carles, one of them being Antonia Beach. The island of Concepcion is also surrounded by several fine sandy shores. One of those is Bolobadiangan Beach, known for its sand which has a yellowish color. Also the Bantigue Beach is another lovely place to go swimming.

As with other provinces in the Philippines, watersports have become a highly sought after activity and one of the leading tourist attractions in Iloilo. There are several places you can do this, but one of the best ones is at the Anhawan Leisure Camp. Here you can go kayaking, or cruise on a boat. You also have the option of going windsurfing. The Iloilo Sailing Club meanwhile, allows you to experience the wonders of sailing on its pristine seas.

Other renowned tourist attractions in Iloilo are its waterfalls such as Nagpana and Nadsadjan. Both of these sites offer stunning views of some of the most beautiful cascading waters in the Philippines, and the areas are surrounded by opulent greenery.

As more and more flock to see the various tourist attractions in Iloilo, the province has been responding by providing more accommodations, which would ultimately make for an even more stimulating trip.
